This is one of the most popular of all houseplant trees and can be adapted to bonsai culture. It is a tree for wide open frost-free areas, but must be grown indoors in cold climates. The roots of this Ficus form secondary trunks in the same manner as the Banyan Tree.
The first photograph was taken at the Cincinatti Zoo and Botanical
Gardens in May, 1999.
The second photograph was taken in San José, Costa Rica,
June, 1999.
The third photograph shows Weeping Ficus used in an urban setting
as an ornamental tree in Liberia, Costa Rica, June, 1999.
