Texas Palmetto
Sabal mexicana

Mexican Palmetto, Sabal mexicana, is easily grown from seed offered by the GreenDealer Exotic Seeds collection of Palm Trees. 

Of the more than 20 species of palms/palmettos that belong to the "Sabal" genus, this is the one that dominates Mexico and Texas and grows abudantly in the Rio Grande river valley. Some will grow to 80 ft. in the ideal tropical climate.

Texas Palmetto prefers hot dry sunny locations and is widley used in landscaping where this conditions prevail. Little care is required once established.
